FAQ

All basic versions of the Beer Distribution Game are free and will remain so forever. If you sign up for a free account, you get access to your game results history and the Multigame feature for four parallel games (up to 16 players).
You can purchase extra parallel games to play the Beer Distribution Game with larger audiences.

You don't need to have an account to play the Beer Distribution Game. If you create an account, you get access to your past game results and can thus track your improvement. You can also play the Multigame with four parallel games.

The Beer Distribution Game was build with the Business Prototyping Toolkit, our Open Source Framework for building interactive simulations. You can find our Beer Game repository on GitHub.

In the multiplayer version you can play the Beergame in teams of 1-4 players. The player who starts the game becomes the game admin who can invite the remaining players to the game. Each of these players takes on one of the roles in the beergame supply chain (either the brewery, or the distributor, or the wholesaler or the retailer) – the game admin can assign the roles freely.

No, you can assign artifical players (AI players), so you can play with 1-4 players. If you play with just one player, you can choose which position you would like to take in the supply chain. If you choose to play the retailer, the multiplayer game is behaves exactly like the single player game.

Play the multiplayer version against 3 artificial players. Instead of playing the retailer, play one of the other roles.

The multigame version of the Beergame let's you play multiple single or multiplayer version of the Beergame in parallel. The game is set up by a beergame facilitator, who typically does not take part in the game herself. Upon starting the game, the Beergame facilitator receives a lobby code, which she passes on to the players. The players can then join the games using the lobby code and the facilitator assigns the players to the games and to their role. Once all player slots are filled, the facilitator can start all games. Once all games are finished, the facilitator can compare the results of the individual games.

You can purchase extra game passes at EUR 10 plus value added tax each.

Each game in the multigame needs at least one human player. Therefore, you can play the multigame with as few as two players. This is fun, because you can compare game results.

Game passes that have not been activated are valid for one year after purchase, after which they can no longer be used.

When you create a multigame, you are asked how many parallel games you would like to start. The number of games you can start depends on the number of activated game passes you have in your account.

In order to use a game pass, you need to activate it. Once a game pass has been activated it is valid for 8h. Within that time, you can use the pass to create extra Multigames on the Multigame page.

Once a game passes is activated, it is valid for 8h. After that time, the game pass can no longer be used.

Game passes that have not been activated can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are made to the original method of payment. To get a refund, send an email with the ID of the pass to info@transentis.com. Activated game passes are not refunded
